San Francesco Camping Village is located on the southern shore of Lake Garda (not to be confused with the campsite of the same name, which is about 40 km east of Venice), around 5 km east of the centre of Desenzano di Garda and close to Sirmione. The campsite is situated at the western part at the beginning of a peninsula that cuts deep into Lake Garda, where you will find the fairytale-like castle Scaligero di Sirmione.
It is a very well maintained 5-star campsite, which can accommodate about 3000 people on more than 10 hectares, with 325 pitches and 202 mobile homes of various types. About half of the pitches have electricity and some also have water hookup. The beautifully furnished and maintained sanitary facilities are adapted for disabled persons and children, and you can even rent a private bathrooms. Laundry maschines and dryers are available, as well as caravan maintenance point and charging stations for electric vehicles.
The campsite has several bars and cafés, and there's also the Vela D'oro restaurant and pizzeria overlooking the lake. Take-away options are available, too. In addition, there is a bakery, a patisserie and a shop within the campsite.
The campsite is family-oriented, as is the whole destination of Lake Garda and its beautiful sandy shore. Children are well catered for: Numerous playgrounds, an animation team, a games room and children's pools with props will keep them entertained throughout the day. For adults, there is a relaxation zone, sports courts (tennis, volleyball, basketball, football) and boat, SUP and pedal boat hire. Of course, you can also bring your own boat. In the evenings, various entertainment events are organised.
The campsite also welcomes pets and has a dog beach specially for them, where you can have fun with your four-legged friend. In addition to the beach, there are also showers for them.
There are plenty of activities outside the campsite: the Gardaland amusement park is not far away (less than 15 km), the surrounding area is ideal for hiking and cycling, and we recommend a visit to the historic town of San Martino della Battaglia, with its magnificent tower.
