Camping Vela Stina is located 12 km from Buzet and 35 km from Opatija, Vela Stina is a campsite that is particularly interesting for tourists who like peace and quiet, enjoy walking and cycling, and enjoy excellent local gourmet delicacies and good wine. Near the campsite (2 km from the campsite) there is the Kompanj climbing centre, where climbers can climb all year round, and the Culture Centre in Roca (400m from the campsite) has a bolder climbing wall. We also recommend hiking along the 17-km-long Trail of Seven Waterfalls on the Draga and Mirna rivers, which runs south of Buzet.
Camping Vela Stina is a family-run campsite, opened in mid-July 2024, with pitches equipped with electricity and water.
There is a nicely furnished sanitary building next to the pitches, which is also heated and has a laundry room, a dog shower and a caravan storage area next to the toilets and showers.
Roč is a small town with a rich history, first mentioned in the 11th century. It is a walled town with three churches - the Romanesque St Rok, with frescoes dating from the 14th century, the Gothic St Anthony from the 12th century, where an engraved alphabet of verbs was discovered, and the parish church of St Bartul from the 15th century. The town lodge, a Renaissance house and, as the town was a centre of Glagolitic literature, a small Glagolitic academy is still held in Roč every year, and a replica of Gutenberg's Glagolitic printing press can also be visited by prior arrangement.
