The Marina Julia Family campsite is one of the campsites close to the Slovenian-Italian border, not far from where the Soča River flows into the Adriatic Sea.
The campsite is not among the largest: it is just under 15 hectares and can accommodate 620 guests. There are pitches (74), mobile homes (38), bungalows and apartments.
There are 3 types of pitches, the larger ones (70-80 m2) for caravans and motorhomes have water and electricity and (as the name suggests) dogs are welcome on the Pineta Dog pitches. The smaller Piscina pitches (up to 60 m2) are intended for tents.
The sanitary facilities on site are adapted for children and people with disabilities, and include washing and drying facilities, as well as a shower for dogs. You can also take care of your campervan there.
There is a partly sandy, partly pebbly beach near the campsite. It has sun loungers and parasols for hire, and the sea entry is particularly shallow, with knee-deep water for 10s metres from the shore. This is ideal for small children, and for windsurfing and kite surfing (kite hire is available at the westernmost part of the beach). There is also an area on the beach reserved for dogs.
In addition to the beach, the campsite itself offers plenty of opportunities for water fun, with 5 swimming pools: one with the slides, one for children, a slow river, a real Olympic-size pool and a pool next to a diving tower with diving boards up to 10m high.
In addition to the pools, the campsite has tennis, football, basketball and volleyball courts, a children's playground, table tennis, mini-golf, entertainment for children of all ages, as well as exercise classes for adults and an evening entertainment programme.
The campsite has an excellent Italian restaurant with meat and seafood dishes and, of course, pizzas, as well as a bar. Take-away and pick-up options are available, and you can order breakfast, half-board or full-board. There is also a shop, a market and a newsagent's within the campsite.
If you run out of things to do on site, the surrounding area is also very interesting to explore. There is a nature reserve, the town of Monfalcone and Devin Castle nearby, and Trieste is not far away - a good half-hour drive.
