Advent in Zadar is one of the most beautiful in Croatia. This year, the lights will be switched on on 24 November and the festivities will continue until 2 January. The excellent Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar is open all year round near the town, offering camping and mobile home rental, and will also have entertainment and open wellness centre during the New Year period.

Advent in Zadar 2024

Zadar is preparing Advent markets in the centre of the old part of the city, and an ice rink and children's park in the Višnjik area on the west side of the city.

This year's big news for Advent in Zadar will be the handicraft fair, which will take place from 29 November in the Cedulin Atrium in the Old Town. Local craftsmen will be presenting their products, tailoring their offer to the festive season and gift buying.

This year, the programme will also take place in the National Square, where concerts will be held from 13 December, and earlier in the day, concerts will also be held in Petar Zoranić Square.

On Saturday, 21 December, the Zadar Christmas Run, a 5 km charity Christmas run, will also take place in the afternoon.

New Year's Eve in Zadar - on the last day of the year, there will be a family New Year's Eve party at noon and the first concert of the Dino Dvornik Tribute Band at 11.30 a.m., followed by a big New Year's Eve party in Petar Zoranic Square in the evening and a concert by the Rockatansky Band Show from 9 p.m., followed by a concert by singer Drazen Zecic from 11 p.m. onwards. On Narodni trg, from 22:00, there will be a concert by the Superstar Show Tribute band, who will entertain with old hits.

Ice rink and funfair on Visnjik

The Visnjik Sports Centre will have a skating rink under a tent, an amusement park for children, trampolines and Santa's truck will be parked there.

The ice rink will be open daily from 24.11. to 12.1. from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., the moon park from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. during the week, and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Skating costs € 5 and skates are available for rent.

Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar - open all year round

The best place to visit the Advent in Zadar is the Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar, open all year round, located in the northern part of the city. The Advent markets are about a 40-minute walk away, and there is a bus stop for the city bus No. 5 and 8 takes you to the centre od Zadar  - price € 1.60 per person.

Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadarhas a large number of sunny camping pitches arranged close to the sea, and guests have access to a heated sanitary facility. Prices for camping with an Avtokampi camping card start from € 27 for 2 people. On pitches closer to the sea, prices start from € 50. Children from 6 to 12 years pay an extra € 7.

They also rent modern Adria mobile homes for 2, 4 or 6 people, which also have a kitchen, bathroom and terrace, and heating is provided by air conditioning. Prices for mobile homes for 2+1 people start from €90, while a larger two-bedroom mobile home for 4+1 can be rented from € 120, and a three-bedroom mobile home for 6+1 from € 130.

Open wellness area at the campsite and hotel

The campsite will have an adult wellness area from 28 December to 2 January, including a small swimming pool and saunas. For children, this spa will be open exceptionally every day between 8 am and 10 am.

Guests of the campsite will also have access to the hotel's larger heated swimming pool (right next to the campsite). Extra charge for swimming € 10 for adults and children over 6 years (younger children free). Adult supplement for swimming and hotel spa is € 27.

The campsite will have a restaurant open during the holidays, where special menus will be prepared. There will be sausages, burgers and sarm and fritulas, and hot drinks from teas to mulled wine, gin and hot aperol.

31.12. - DJ party from 11:00, New Year's Eve party at noon with fireworks and toast, New Year's raffle and treasure hunt.
