Basic information

Riccione Camping, near the town of the same name on Italy's east coast, is located in the Emilia-Romagna region, not far from the famous holiday destination of Rimini. The campsite offers just under 500 pitches and over 60 mobile homes. The pitches are suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes, and all have electricity, some with water and drainage. There are several toilets, some of which are adapted for disabled people and children, some of which are able to cater for caravans, and some of which have showers for dogs. A fridge can be rented.

The campsite is not directly on the beach, which is a 100m walk away, and there is a train service. The beach is typical of this part of Italy: an endless sand dune descending slowly into the sea, ideal for families with young non-swimmers. There are long rows of umbrellas and sun loungers for rent, and many bars and restaurants along the beach.

Swimming is not limited to the beach, however, as the campsite also has a swimming pool complex: there is an Olympic-size pool and several smaller pools for children, including one with artificial rocks and a slide. There are sports courts (football, volleyball, tennis, table tennis and fitness), pedal boats and bicycles for hire. There is also entertainment for children and adults, and a mini-club for the little ones.

The campsite has a restaurant/pizzeria, a poolside bar and a delicatessen.

In addition to Rimini, there are several amusement parks in the surrounding area, and for a day trip we recommend visiting the San Marino micro-state.
