The main advantage of hu Roma Camping in Town is, as the name suggests, its location. It's on the ring road around Rome, just off the Via Aurelia, which connects the western part of the ring road to the city centre. It's a so-called urban campsite, but it's right next to a large green area with meadows and trees, so it doesn't feel like you're in the middle of a concrete jungle. In front of the campsite, there is a city bus stop that takes you to Cornelia Metro Station, from which you can reach most parts of Rome. Or, if you walk 1.5 km to Aurelia Station, you can take the train from there to both Rome city centre and Fiumicino Airport.
The campsite offers mobile homes, well equipped glamping tents and pitches. These are smaller (22-90 m2) and equipped with electricity only, but dogs are allowed. There are also shared water hookups in the vicinity of the pitches. The campsite also has heated sanitary facilities which, in addition to personal hygiene, also offer laundry service.
The campsite has a 25-metre swimming pool and 2 smaller round whirlpools. There are sun loungers and parasols by the pool. There is also a children's playground, a combined football/basketball court and table tennis tables.
Guests can dine in the campsite's restaurant and bar, and the pool bar is open in summer. The restaurant serves breakfast. There is also a shop on site and free WiFi is available in the common areas (reception, restaurant, swimming pool).
As mentioned above, the camp's biggest advantage is its location: it is just 5 km from the Vatican, and there is a shuttle service directly from the campsite three times in the morning and four times in the afternoon. Thanks to good transport links, the whole city of Rome is at your fingertips, both by private and (preferably) public transport.
It's impossible to sum up in a few sentences what you can see in Rome, so in addition to the Vatican, we'd highlight the Colosseum, the Pantheon, St Peter's Basilica, the Catacombs and the Roman Forum. And of course, you must try the local pizza, gelato, wine and experience the charm of Rome's nightlife.
