There are 103 campsites in Slovenia, most of them are smaller ones, as 76 of them can host less than 200 guests. Six campsites could be labelled as large, accepting more than 800 people. We have checked what they are preparing for season 2019.
Statistical overview of camping season 2018
Camping is gaining importance in Slovene tourism. In last season guests have made more than 1.93 million of overnights, which is 5.6% more than a year before. Main guests are coming from Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Austria, France, Denmark and Belgium - they have contributed to 70% of the above mentioned overnights.
Camping trends have been changing rapidly. Every year Slovenia hosts more guests with campers/motorhomes, that are looking for active holidays that Slovenia is perfect for - clear nature and lots of outdoor activities. Quite some guests are coming as well with tents - they are looking for arranged camping pitches, tidy sanitary facilities and rich offer of the additional activities.

Novelties in Slovene campsites
What is new?
Camping Sobec has been in previous years well renovated, arranging camping pitches, building new restaurant, market and sanitary facilities. This season they will,on the place where the old restaurant was located, arrange 55 new camping pitches with electricity, water connection and sewage, 15 pitches will additionally have connection to gas. Close by will be new, smaller, sanitary facilities building. They have been working as well in the upper part of the campsite that is now well arranged for guests coming with tents that will have easier access to the river.
Camping Bled will open new season with renovated upper part of the campsite that will now offer new premium pitches, between 100 and 120 m2 large, having connection to electricity, water and sewage.They have enriched two camping pitches with wooden wellness terrace with hot tub and sun loungers. Offer of the electric bicycles and organized daily cycling trips will be improved.
Camping Koren - last season two lovely wooden glamping huts for 2-3 persons were added, while this season they arranged six new camping pitches with electricity, water and sewage. By the bar new terrace overlooking river Soca will be opened.
Camping Bela krajina has last year offered new camping pitches suitable for larger campers and caravans as well as new sanitary facilities. This season they will add to their offer 6 smaller mobile homes / rooms named 'Suite Rivierview' for 2-3 persons. Along the glamping huts and sauna, a hot wooden tub will be built. They will as well improve sport facilities - they will add one beach volleyball and football on sand court, add new canoes and rental of children's bicycles.
Camping Adria in Ankaran will get partly renovated beach and new children's playground. Sanitary facilities in zone 'sea' will be enlarged and another one modernized. Self service restaurant will be renovated, along with beach bar and bar Adria. Lightning across the camp will be partly renovated.
Camping Terme Ptuj will get one sanitary facilities renovated and modernized.
In camping Terme 3000 they will invest into renovation of the first houses in Prekmurska village Ajda and arrange its surroundings. These are modern mobile homes built in typical local style with lots of wood and glass used. Arrangement of surroundings will include new relaxing paths for barefoot walks, children's playground for education and fun of youngest guests.
Camping Danica in Bohinjska Bistrica will be richer for new and larger reception, new system for vehicle entrance with plate number recognition, two private bathrooms, additional camping pitches, shower for dogs and wellness facilities. Camp Danica has gained certificate EcoCamping and has new website that enables online reservation of camping pitches.
Camping Kamne in Mojstrana will get two new wooden glamping houses for 2 persons that will have large bed and one wall made of glass - to enable great view and connection with nature during your stay.
