Winter is coming and for all of you who like to go skiing and winter camping with your motorhome, the Slovenian company Veriga Lesce has prepared new snow chains for motorhomes. This is one of the best known manufacturers of snow chains. Their new Tractiva chains offer an innovative solution for quick installation and excellent grip on snow and ice.

In recent years, winters have not been as snowy as they used to be, but when strange weather events occur in winter, it can happen that a large amount of snow falls in one area in a short space of time. Usually just in time to leave the ski resort and going home.

Snow chains are not a compulsory part of winter equipment, as it is legally sufficient to have winter tyres. However, they are compulsory if it is snowing and there is a traffic sign on the road, or if the police or maintenance services require you to wear snow chains. This is often the case, for example, on roads over passes in Austria or in the Dolomites.

For motorhomes, which usually weigh 3.5 t or even more, it is difficult to expect that winter tyres will be sufficient for driving on a snowy mountain road. The problem is not only with the heavy vehicle, but also with other vehicles which often stop on such a road and then have trouble starting again.

Snow chains have a reputation for being difficult to install and the installation process for being too long and complicated, so Veriga Lesce decided to evolve the classic snow chain.

The Tractiva snow chains, with a slightly different design, are easy to use, yet strong and efficient enough for both car and motorhome use.Their quality is proven by the Austrian Ö-NORM V5117 standard, which means that Tractiva snow chains are also legally approved for use on snow-covered roads in Austria.

It should be noted that Tractiva chains are available for forged and cast wheels.

Tractiva chains are a system of 4 levers and carbon steel points on 4 polyurethane guides. The special clamping method ensures that Tractiva chains can be mounted very quickly and without additional clamping on the back of the bike. This makes them suitable even for sports cars that usually have less space under the track.

Tractiva chains are strong and very durable, and the clever clamping system includes steel arms with springs that secure the chain to the wheel.

Polyurethane guides, tungsten carbide spikes and square-shaped sections with cross-set metal profiles ensure excellent grip on snow and ice. The Tractiva Van chains have 16 mm high links to ensure excellent vehicle grip.

The rubber tensioning elements allow the Tractiva chain to self-centre and fit snugly to the tyre, without the need for additional stopping and tightening of the chain.
