New Bridge to connect town Trogir and Island Ciovo

Town Trogir along Croatian Dalmatian coastline has been in last years suffocating in traffic as connecting bridge to island Ciovo has been very old and way to narrow. They have been building brdige for several years - it was expected to be opened two years ago! However, after all the troubles and even change of main constructor, bridge will be opened in mid July.

Local friends are saying that bridge will be opened for traffic this Friday, July 13th, and the official opening will be in the beginning of next week.

Bridge Ciovo is 551 long and 12m wide. It includes not only driving lanes, but as well cycling path and sidewalk for pedestrians. Some connection roads were built as well. It is a drawbridge which will enable access to Trogir for ships up to 30 metes wide.
Opening of new bridge is not important for local inhabitance, but as well for tourists that come to Ciovo - not last, to two campsites on the island – campsite Rozac and campsite Labadusa. They sometimes needed almost an hour to get through the trafficjams and to the island - it is expected that new bridge will take over 60% of all the traffic and contribute to much quicker access to the island.

On southern, more peaceful side of island you will find camp Labadusa, that is offering not only camping pitches, but as well rental of caravans. Guests stay breathless for its crystal clear sea and nature, this year renovated sanitary facilities will only act as cherry on top of your stay there.
