The excellent Camping Baia Holiday Cavalino, near Venice, has decided to open its doors in December for winter camping and mobile home rental. The location is ideal for visiting Venice, the festive markets of Cavallino Treporti and Jesolo, and enjoying the on-site wellness area with swimming pool and saunas.

You can spend the Christmas-New Year holidays at Camping Baia Holiday Cavallino, which will be open until 7 January 2025 and offers well-equipped camping pitches and mobile homes with two or three bedrooms for 4-6 people.

The Green Park Hotel is also open for the holidays, with rooms and apartments.

The campsite has a wellness area with a heated swimming pool and saunas, open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, which is generally for adults only, but the pool is also open for families with children daily from 13:00 to 15:00.

The location of Camping baia Holiday Cavallino is right next to a long sandy beach, which is great for walks. If the weather is nice, there are plenty of well-maintained cycling paths in the surrounding area, which are completely flat.

We also recommend a boat trip to Venice (no entry fee for Venice in winter) or to the interesting islands of Murano and Burano. There are several daily boat trips from Punta Sabbioni, 6 km from the campsite.

Christmas holidays in Cavallino Treporti

Advent and New Year in Cavallino Treporti - until 23 December, the Christmas Village will be set up in the Cavallino City Park (area mercato Cavallino), where various events, concerts, creative workshops and a children's Lego Christmas will be organised on 14 and 15 December.

The traditional Santa Claus Regatta on the lagoon is organised (22 December), and the festive events are rounded off on 5 January with the ancient Venetian tradition of Pan e Vin Cavallino - Pavineri, when the Befana, symbol of the past year, is lit in the lagoon at dusk, in the hope that the New Year will be a better one. There's plenty of mulled wine and sweets for the children.

Throughout the town, people put more than 20 nativity scenes on display - a map. A special feature is the Art of the Nativity crib in the lagoon, where more than 400 large figures are on display, visible from the shore. The location is in the northern part, right next to the famous 8km long Via Pordelio cycle path, which passes over the lagoon itself.

Sand Nativity scene in Jesolo

We also recommend a visit to the Christmas and New Year market in Jesolo (11 km from the campsite), which is open daily until 6 January. The main part of the Advent market is located from Piazza Mazzini to Piazza Aurora. There is also an ice-skating rink in Piazza Mazzini.

Jesolo has a very famous sand nativity scene (Piazza Brescia), which is open until 9 February, weekends and public holidays, and from 22.12. to 6.1. every day from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm, and on the other days from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm to 7.30 pm. The second part of the sand nativity scene is also on display in Piazza Milano until 19 January.

In Piazza I Maggio, in the old part of the city, a crib made of ice is on display until 12 January.

Winter camping and relaxing in the wellness area

Camping Baia Holiday Cavallino has camping pitches and a heated sanitary facility next to them.

Mobile homes are available and are heated with air conditioning. You can rent a mobile home with two or three bedrooms for 4-6 people.

Prices for camping around Christmas are for 2 people on a pitch with electricity from € 45. Prices for mobile homes for 4 people start from € 110 per night.

For New Year's Eve camping prices for 2 people start from € 60 and mobile homes for 4 people start from € 180.

The campsite will have a children's playroom during the holidays, and the Sabbioni restaurant is open in the neighbouring hotel (daily except Wednesday: breakfast 7.30 - 10h, lunch 12 - 14h, dinner 19 - 21.30).

Festive menus are available and a New Year's Eve party with live music will be organised (reservation is needed).

The Panta Rei Wellness Centre is located inside the Baia Holiday Cavallino and is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00 in December. The spa is for adults only (16+), but families with children can visit it every day between 13:00 and 15:00, when there is a children's pool.

Downstairs there is a Finnish and Turkish sauna, a whirlpool, relaxing showers and a relax area with sun loungers. A variety of massages is also available.

The price for a 2-hour entry to the pool is € 15, for children € 7 (only between 13-15h together with parents), for the pool and wellness it is € 19 and for a full day at the wellness it is € 39.
