Among 5.400 camps from whole Europe 21 camps from Slovenia were included. They rated camps Kekec form Maribor and Camp Podzemelj for the first time.
Each year ADAC at Stuttgart, where one of the main tourist fairs is held, present their new issue of ADAC camping catalogue. It’s kind of a bible for European campers wanting to get real and checked information about services in camps. At this opportunity they award best European camps as well.
ADAC inspectors visit many camps and they have exact criteria for rating the general quality of services. For each category rates between 1 and 5 are possible:
-Tidiness and cleanness of sanitary
-Tidiness and equipment of the pitches
-Quality of the services offered (products offered in the market, quality of food in restaurants and bars)
-Diversity of free time activities
-Organization of animation program
Among 5.400 camps from whole Europe 21 camps from Slovenia were included. They rated camps Kekec form Maribor and Camp Podzemelj for the first time.
Camps in Slovenia cannot compare to the best in Europe as none of them have yet got the ‘Superplatz’ title, that is reserved for really well managed and only best arranged camps. This year they have granted this title to 78 camps around the Europe, two of them from Croatia – Lanterna from Porec and Zaton from Nin by Zadar.
The closest to the above mentioned camps is for some years now Camp Terme Catez that is the best rated Slovenian camp. It got 21 out of 25 possible points. However, they need additional star in category of tidiness and equipment of the pitches. Animation was awarded with five starts, while tidiness and cleanness of sanitary with four. However, Camp Terme Catez was awarded, as the only one from Slovenia, with ‘ADAC yellow shield’ that is given to all the camps that make an exceptional progress in their services.
All 21 Slovenian camps got average 11,38 points (last year 19 camps had average mark 11,52 points). But it needs to be mentioned that camps by the thermal spas (like Terme Catez, Terme 3000, Terme Banovci, Terme Ptuj and Terme Olimia) receive much higher points that the rest of the camp – their average is 17,40 (last years was 17,20).
This year two camps in Gorenjska – camp Bled and Sobec – as well as one camp from the coast – Adria from Ankaran – were very well rated. Camp Bled got 18points, which is 3 more from last year’s inspection and these 3 points were added because of the newly set wooden houses – forest villas. Sobec did not change its services much, but stays generally well rated for all services. Camp Adria has great animation and free time options, inspectors emphasized.
Comparing to last years points, camp Danica received 2 more and camps Soncni gaj and Lazar got 1 more each.
