German auto club ADAC has in their camping guide ADAC Campingführer 2013 rated 21 Slovenian campings. Check which are among the best!

German auto club ADAC has in their camping guide ADAC Campingführer 2013 rated 21 Slovenian campings.

Their inspectors have pointed out especially the overall quality of all camps in the framework of Thermal Baths. Additionally, they recommend camping in Slovenia to all active tourists who like hiking, climbing, cycling, rafting or sport flying. Many camps have beenADAC Campingführer 2013 praised for their children' animation and playgrounds.

This years rates cannot be compared to the last ones as rating system has been changed to a great extend. ADAC inspectors have decided to join their experiences in inspections with Dutch ANWB. 5 categories and 2 sub categories are being rated now:
- sanitary facilities (quantity and quality)
- camp's surface (number and equipment of the pitches as well as tidiness of public places, such as reception, parking)
- camp's facilities (shops, restaurants, bars)
- free time offer (number and quality of the children's playgrounds, sport terrains, facilities for boat owners, wellness and quality of animation program)
- bathing offer (tidiness of the beach along the sea, river and swimming pools).

Novelty is also title ADAC BestCamping that is replacing previously known ADAC Superplatz. However, none of the Slovenian camps have enough high standard for this title yet - only 137 from 5.450 rated campes across Europe have been recognized as ADAC BestCamping. ADAC:

Best campings in Slovenia for season 2013 are…

Closest to the ADAC BestCamping award is Camping Terme Catez that is the ADAC - Najboljši kampi v Sloveniji za leto 2013best rated Slovenian camp. In the sub-categories (playgrounds, animation and swimming pools) they got maximum points (5), while final all together rating was 4.5 points – only 0,5 points are missing this camp to be the first one to get this title in Slovenia. The same rating, 4.5 points, was given to Camp Natura in Terme Olimia, which is a sum of great rates in sub-categories sanitary facilities and swimming pools tidiness.

Five Slovenian camps have been rated with 4 points – camping Bled has tidy sanitary buildings and camping pitches, while we miss additional point for tidiness of the beach at the lake, newly arranged last year; camping Sobec has been given great points for sanitary facilities and reception arrangement; camping Adria from Anakaran was praised for sanitary facilities, animation and swimming pool; camping Soncni gaj in Terme Banovci got the highest rates in sub-category animation and swimming pools; camp Terme 3000 got great rates for their playgrounds and swimming pools.

Ratings 3.5 were given to camping Koren from Kobarid (very good sanitary facilities), camp Danica from Bohinjska Bistrica (sanitary facilities, reception and restaurant) and camp Terme Ptuj (well organized animation, swimming pools and restaurants/bars).

More camps got rated with 3 points – camping Menina, Podzemelj, Pivka jama and Radovljica.

Camps Kekec from Maribor, Dolina from Prebold, Ljubljana Resort and Smlednik got 2.5 points.

Only 2 points got camps Lucija, Zlatorog from Bohinj and Lazar from Kobarid.

What will be new in season 2013?

By the opinion of German ADAC inspectors, Slovenian camps should additionally invest in modernization of sanitary facilities, tidiness of camping pitches and their equipment with water and electricity connection. From camping Terme Catez we have been notified that they have arranged some new pitches and that some new mobile homes will be available for rent – this will be first mobile homes from agency Gebetsroither that is offering camping facilities across Europe.

In Camp Adria in Ankaran visitors will have opportunity to rent one of new caravans set on beautiful pitches.

Camp Natura is located withing Terme Olimia that will this season be richer for 15m high toboggan in the shape of snake cobra. This will be toboggan with two tubes and will bring lots of entertainment to families that will enjoy the 180m long slide.

Camp Menina has been largely renovated after autumn’s floods and pitches arranged. Additionally, new wooden sauna will be added which will enrich their services.
