German auto-club ADAC each year announces awards for best European camps at International trade fair for the camping industry called Camp Ground Stuttgart. At this opportunity they presented also new camping guide that is one of most used among campers and in two books precisely describes more than 5.400 camps.
German auto-club ADAC each year announces awards for best European camps at International trade fair for the camping industry called Camp Ground Stuttgart. At this opportunity they presented also new camping guide that is one of most used among campers and in two books precisely describes more than 5.400 camps.
Croatian camps have proved again to be very well maintained and organized. Inspectors from ADAC estimated that many camps in Croatia were renovated and quite a lot of money was invested in reconstruction and improvement of quality. Quality is of course, besides beautiful nature and clear sea, main criteria for improved grades/stars of Croatian camps.
German inspectors each year visit more than 100 camps along Croatian coast and pay special attention to:
Best Croatian camps for 2011
Camps that after rigorous inspection in all five categories receive at least 4 points, are awarded with special title 'ADAC Superplatz' that is given only to best camps. For 2011 only 79 camps in Europe were awarded, among them also two camps from Croatia:
- camp Lanterna from Porec, which received 22 points
- camp Zaton from Zadar, which received all together 21 points.
With award titled 'yellow board' ADAC grants also camps that have made significant progress and greatly improved their offer from last inspection. From Istria following camps received this award: Kanegra (FKK), Stella Maris and Finida from Umag, Solaris (FKK) and Bijela Uvala fron Porec. In Kvarner camps Slatina on island Cres and Poljana on island Mali Lošinj received it, as well as camps Vira from island Hvar and Nevio from Pelješac peninsula.
Despite the fact that camp Valalata (FKK) did not receive any of the awards, it gained the highest points among Croatian camps - 23. But received in one category only three points and was consequently not among this years winners.
Similarly, many other camps received relatively high final mark, but mostly failed receiving four points for sanitary facilities - camp Strasko from island Pag, which received 21 points or camps Polari, Vestar and Bi Village, which received 20 points.

- setting and equipment of the pitches
- facilities in camp, culinary offer, offer in shops
- sport facilities and playgrounds for children
- animation, prepared for camp's guests.
