Inspectors of German auto mobile club ADAC each year visit more than 2.000 European camps have inspected and rated also all larger Croatian camps. In report for season 2009 they praised especially camps in Istria, Kvarner and Northern Dalmatia. They have especially commented on improvement of sanitary blocks, arrangement of pitches and improved supplement services in camp. Simultaneously, they noted that many times evening animation and music are too laud and too long, which disturbs guests that want to have a peaceful rest. Average rating in Croatian camps is 2.45 (5 is maximum rating), but camps in Istria have been on average better rated – 3.26.
ADAC Superplatz only for the best camps
ADAC has on CMT fair in Stuttgart awarded some Croatian camps with awards that can be won only for very quality services. Prestigious award of red board – award Superplatz, given solely to the best 80 camps in Europe, was given to Park Umag and Zaton Holiday Village.
Yellow board was given to 10 camps in Croatia. This is awarded to the camps that have improved their services and offers to a great extent. First precondition are tidy sanitary blocks, where camp must get at least mark 4 (out of 5), while arrangement of pitches can be marked with 3. Camps that satisfy these criteria are:
- Park Umag, Kanegra, Stella Maris and Finida in Umag in Istria
- Lanterna and Solaris in Porec in Istria
- Poljana on island Mali Losinj
- Zaton Holiday Village by city Zadar
- Vira on the island Hvar
- Nevio in town Orebic on Peljesac peninsula.
ANWB awards tidy swimming pools
Dutch auto mobile club ANWB has six Croatian camps awarded for their tidy swimming pools. So, maximum mark 10, was given to next camps: Park Umag, Lanterna and Zelena Laguna in Porec, Valalata and Vestar in Rovinj, Bi Village in Fazana near Pula.
ADAC catalog of camper stops
ADAC each year issues also catalog of camper stops. Croatia has not developed many yet, as catalogue contains only 15 stops, which is 2 more than last year. Camper owners can select among 7 stops in Istria, one in Kvarner, 5 in Dalmatia and 2 in Lika. Special mark for quality ADAC Komfort Platz was given to camper stop Fram Pino from Baderne in central Istria.
